1. Who we are

This website, contemporary-issues.pl, is the official website of the international scientific conference Contemporary Issues in Economy. The website is operated by the Institute of Economic Research (Instytut Badań Gospodarczych), ul. Ks. Roberta Bilitewskiego 5, 10-693 Olsztyn, Poland, which acts as the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this website.

2. What this website does – and does not – collect

This website is an information service. It does not contain registration forms, contact forms, newsletters, user accounts for visitors, comment sections or any other functionality through which visitors could submit personal data. We do not use web analytics, advertising networks, social-media plugins or other third-party tracking tools.

The only data processed when you visit this website are the technical data described in section 3.

3. Server logs

Like every website, this site is hosted on a web server that automatically records basic technical information about each request: the IP address of the visitor, the date and time of the request, the address of the page requested, the HTTP status code, the amount of data transferred, the referring page (if any) and the browser and operating system used.

These logs are kept by our hosting provider for the purposes of ensuring the security and stability of the service, detecting abuse and diagnosing technical faults. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data are not combined with any other data and are deleted automatically after a limited retention period set by the hosting provider.

4. Cookies

This website does not set any cookies for visitors. Technical cookies are used only during administrative log-in by the persons who maintain the website; they are not set for ordinary visitors and are not used for tracking.

5. Hosting

The website is hosted in Poland (European Union). Personal data contained in server logs are not transferred outside the European Economic Area.

6. Links to external websites

This website contains links to external websites, in particular to the journals Oeconomia Copernicana and Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy, to the Economic Publishing Platform, to DOI resolvers and to the websites of the organising institutions. Those websites are operated by other entities and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or for the processing of personal data carried out there.

7. Conference registration and correspondence

Registration for the conference and any correspondence with the organisers take place by e-mail, outside this website. Personal data provided in that way are processed by the conference organisers for the purpose of organising the conference and are subject to separate information provided at the time of registration.

8. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access your personal data, to have them rectified or erased, to restrict or object to their processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland the supervisory authority is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl).

Because this website collects no personal data other than technical server logs, requests concerning such data should be directed to the data controller indicated in section 1.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website or in the applicable law. The current version, with the date of the last update, is always available on this page.
